Tricky one! I like ‘acts’ because then you can talk about the ’3 Acts’ of training’ but I like ‘steps’ as in the ‘steps of study’ aswell.
Hi Mark!
Just saw your mention of “Bellaluce” on the female monologue audition piece blog, and I must admit, I got all excited about it. ![]()
I thoroughly enjoy your blog and check it several times a week for new posts. I became a user of the “Practical Aesthetics” techniques after I read A Practical Handbook for the Actor, and I always find your blogposts interesting, enjoyable, and very useful!
I like Stages, it sounds better to me in terms of “stages of progress”. Not a fan on Acts to be honest.
It’s not just about acting for the stage.
I also like the idea of the Act linking it closer to ACTION.
The Final ACT is when you finish – stop breathing and die. other than that you just keep on with the next Act.
